Step-by-step guide to generating an invite link and helping your tenant create their account.

How the Tenant Invite Flow Works

The tenant portal is completely separate from your management account — tenants have their own login with email and password. You send them an invite link to get started.

Step 1: Find the Tenant

Go to Tenants in the sidebar. Find the tenant you want to invite.

Step 2: Click the Invite Button

Click the chain-link icon (🔗) on the tenant's card. Rentadminly generates a unique invite link valid for 7 days.

Step 3: Share the Link

A modal appears with the invite URL. Click Copy Link and paste it into an email or text to your tenant.

What the Tenant Sees

When your tenant clicks the link, they'll be taken to a setup page that asks them to:

1. Create a password (minimum 8 characters)

2. Click "Create Account & Sign In"

They're automatically logged in and taken to their dashboard.

Tenant Dashboard Features

Once set up, your tenant can:

  • View their unit information
  • Submit maintenance requests with descriptions and priority
  • Send messages about open requests
  • Track request status in real-time
  • Regenerating an Invite Link

    If the link expires (after 7 days) or the tenant loses it, click the invite button again to generate a fresh link.

    Troubleshooting

  • **"Invalid token" error**: The link has expired. Generate a new one.
  • **Tenant can't log in**: Generate a fresh invite link for them to reset their access.
